author of my all time favorite science fiction work (ender’s game) and many other quality works, this unfortunately wasn’t one of them. it’s particularly sad because it could have been. the first 375 pages presented an intriguing story of a future generation capable of time travel wrestling with the idea of changing the past. then i guess the publisher jumped in, pushed for early release and in the remaining 25 pages all their complex plans work out exactly and everyone lives happily ever after -sigh.
