i am proud to say that since it first aired i have seen less than five minutes of american idol, but after catching a music coach asking andrea bocelli what color he thought one of the contestants hair was that all might be changing.

one year ago, i moved to north carolina. in that time i have lived in three different houses and had three different employers. and i’m considered the stable son in my family.

one of the saddest aspects of my profession is how many people equate the absence of personality and common courtesy with some intangible talent. my experience shows it to be intangible because it too is absent.

after three separate people told me it was ok to plug my mac in to the corporate network a pc tech still came by and scolded me.

since this is the second company where i’ve had something like this happen (the first company had a higher concentration of nazis and wrote me up and sent me to hr) i’m convinced these lan guys just hate the powerbook because its so beautiful.

no matter how many times i start a new job, my greatest concern is always hoping that the cool people will ask me to sit with them in the cafeteria.

and i’m pretty sure my definition of cool people is inconsistent with the common definition.

i’m excited about the recent announcement that i can run windows software on my macintosh hardware – after two plus years without it i’ve grown nostalgic for the blue screen of death.
