i had to replace a battery in one of our cars this week and the auto parts store offered to put it in for free. it seemed like a great deal until i was left standing around the store like some useless tool while a cashier put it in. he too made a point of looking at me like i was handicapped.

until the past few weeks i’d been shaving my head once a week for three years. during that time it appears that my hair recession has achieved near full horseshoe.

in the morning i pass by workers conscientiously protecting their hearing with ear plugs thinking about how when i get to the office i’ll be putting in ear buds to blow out mine.

given my recent midas touch with local team championships i was tempted to put a bunch of money on carolina in the college world series. maybe that very midas touch kept me from doing so, since unc came up a run and game short…

i’m a bit alarmed after friday’s post because when i came home there was a jehovah’s witness flyer on my doorstep – how did they know?

the easiest way to avoid telling people its your birthday is to tell them you’re a jehovah’s witness. jehovah’s witnesses don’t celebrate birthdays.

the craziest thing about all this is how many people have believed me.

i used to exercise and work around the house til exhaustion, now i’m pretty much just awake til exhaustion.

any more, i barely have to wait even a year to find good cause for tossing cars and burning fires in the street.

i kinda got exactly what i wanted for father’s day – five minutes of peace. only it wasn’t five minutes it was the book five minutes’ peace.

i watch the daily show with john stewart for two reasons. first, its funny as hell and second, i want to make sure i don’t miss out being pissed off about something.

the republican senate’s agenda this month, constitutional ban on gay marriage, constitutional ban on flag burning and making permanent the repeal of estate taxes.

if this actually succeeds in energizing american’s to their cause in november then i may have to consider doing more than just telling people i’m from canada.
