in case the litany of senators who espouse family values and end up exposed as adulterers or even worse, child molesters; or the fiscal conservatives who embezzle or are on the take; or even the segregationist with the black baby hasn’t convinced you senator is synonymous with hypocrite – daschle has done his best to remove all doubt.

i’m not getting any kickbacks for this recommendation but seriously, if you haven’t tried jack’s garden fresh salsa you are missing out on one of life’s greater pleasures.

my only warning is that any other salsa not fresh out of your own garden isn’t going to make the cut once you’ve experienced this.

i’m posting this now because someone finished off the jack’s in my refrigerator and didn’t bother to replace it… uncool…

i swing back and forth between thinking its a good idea or bad to investigate the corruption of the bush, cheney, rumsfeld, rice, gonzalez and heck of a job brownie team.

on the one hand, people need to be held accountable for what they’ve done and i think a lots taken place over the last eight years that needs more than an “i don’t recall” to explain away.

on the other hand, the likelihood that anything beneficial comes from the investigation to someone who is not an attorney is relatively low and there are sufficient enough problems at the moment that it seems maybe our full concentration should be directed their way.

but when one of the chief clowns responsible for tearing up the place goes out in public and says stupid shit like this, then i say he’s asking for it.

as i sat down to write today’s post, i was thinking i might need to apologize for going tech heavy a second day in a row, but then i realized i’m kind of a geek and its amazing there isn’t more tech garbage here all the time.

so count yourself lucky there is so little tech, or i’ll count myself lucky you bother to come here at all, whichever is most appropriate…

i so enjoyed my windows vista experience last week i feel compelled to spare anyone who thinks they might be missing something the pain of finding out they are not.

it started when i tried to create a shortcut in the programs menu. apparently, its not safe for an administrative account to create a shortcut, but you can drag one off the desktop provided you don’t mind clicking on not just one, but two requests to perform an administrator action. its a shortcut, i wasn’t trying to format the boot drive.

create shortcut not

next, my administrator account couldn’t edit the hosts file. turns out you have to start an editor in administrator mode and then go find your file, open it, edit and save.

run as administrator

somethings haven’t changed, windows’ programs still fail quite routinely but now they come with a hint of magic that some windows’ gnome is going to fix everything…

stoppedworking

but of course, there is no magic gnome and the end result is the same old result…

to keep you from thinking this is the same old windows all the basic things your used to using have been moved around and behave oddly. for example, you won’t find the “Documents and Settings” or “Programs” folders any more and “Add/Remove Programs” has been replaced, and i know the windows file explorer must be better now that the address bar flips back and forth between clickable directories and text depending upon where i click on it.

and come on, why do i still need to add the “http://” to a web site address just because there is a port number included…

finally, i was convinced they stripped features out of vista that i needed, so i went to the microsoft web site to review the feature matrix and discovered they created more versions of vista than they did useful features for vista.

vista sports more versions than features

and my favorite, sixty dollars enables you to both protect your hardware and having fun with your pc. a bargain at any price.

so i watched the superbowl with my five year old son for the first time and i’ve got to say, the previews for upcoming movies and the nbc line-up were way more difficult to explain than a boob.

and on the game, all i’ve got to say is when will teams stop playing prevent defense???
