twenty four hours and no news 2009.06.16

it has become completely impossible to watch the news.

the folks at fox have always been too far right, but the colored president has them in such a state they don’t even offer up lucid debate any more.

msnbc seems to feel obligated to match fox crazy but to the left.

and cnn is so busy chasing shiny objects like flat panel touch screens and the latest in social networking that they no longer report the news but instead run commentary on all the content the lemmings have sent them via facebook and twitter.

in fact, i think its fair to say that if your social networking site is one of the dozen or so don lemon is asking for you to contact him with, that channel has jumped the shark.

My advice is to watch the news safe in the knowledge that it is one thing – a delivery device for advertising. Our observations of US news from thousands of miles awa are as follows (together with Star Wars quotes):
Fox News – Could a more objectionable collection of humanity possibly be assembled in one place? Glenn Beck – my God is he for real??? You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villany.
MSNBC – So much shouting, so many ticker lines, too many colours. Its like a bad trip! Its like a million voices cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.
CNN – You nailed it my friend, I tuned in to see the news and instead found out that Mutumba from Nigeria tweeted while crossing the Tanzanian border. Mutumba is not a bird btw. I’ve got a very bad feeling about this.

The media here are worse, if that can be possible. Right now its “scare the living shite out of the public – Swine flu’s comin to get you”. Notwithstanding only 100 people have it and people are over it in 2 days!!

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.
