beta 2010.08.31

a video tape of me on my twenty-first birthday has materialized, that was more than half my life ago and was a time when there was still hair on my head.

i’m quite interested in seeing it, but its on vhs and i don’t have a player…

seven 2010.08.30

the race home from california was to be back home in time for ethan’s seventh birthday.

leaving arizona 2010.08.26

crossed arizona, and new mexico and arrived in texas.

just left denny’s where i had a salmonella slam and their new pancake puppies.

will update progress tomorrow if denny’s doesn’t get the better of me…

farewell california

out of solidarity with my latino compadres i’m not happy to be in arizona…

but, i already feel like i’ve got more elbow room and i’d be lying if i didn’t admit i let out a little “whoop” when i crossed the border out of california…

bon voyage 2010.08.25

a little more of this and i might be clamoring to go in to the office every day.

even better, on the inside it reads “ps. you look too young to be in the 40s.”

last word 2010.08.23

no monday morning pictures of the kids == the family returned home on friday and i’m still in california

nothing clever to say in place of the pictures == me working too much over the weekend

now where am i going to shop? 2010.08.20

top billing 2010.08.19

the kids came in to the office on tuesday so we could go out with everyone for a farewell dinner since our time in california is wrapping up.

they were most impressed with our poster paper and colored markers and here is one of the pictures ethan drew…

don’t think anyone in the office hasn’t already pointed out that i’m loved only after my colleague carlos.

toothless 2010.08.18

ethan lost his third tooth in four days. the last time the tooth fairy came, she was running short on ones and was only able to leave half of the two dollars she left on previous visits.

for a kid who has never believed in santa claus and knows where his easter basket comes from, he had a lot to say about the debt the tooth fairy was racking up to him…

modern family 2010.08.17

we needed a new show and after polling the office interns and checking out a few pilots, i think we’ve landed on modern family.

not only was the pilot ridiculously funny but it offered sage family advice like the following:

“you’re his family now, and that means only one thing. you be the wind in his back not the spit in his face.”

last hoorah 2010.08.16

ethan and logan on the oakland to san francisco ferry.

ethan beside a large plant.

ethan and logan at swim team.

logan beside the same large plant.

moby? 2010.08.13

glick, the beautiful asian optician assures me these are timeless, classical sunglasses that look great and go with any outfit (not that any of my clothes qualify as an outfit).

my wife asked “are you trying to look like a skin head?”

sometimes it aint easy being bald…
