Sunrise at Angkor Wat is supposed to be special.

Luckily our guide made sure we got there ahead of the masses and to a good spot otherwise I think I would have found it a little less special and been much more annoyed by the crowds.

As it happened, we ended up next to a guy who was there for the second time who defended our spot like it was holy land. He had been there the day before and let one person get in front of him and then twenty more followed with their selfie sticks. He wasn't about to let that happen a second day in a row.

As you can see, its a better than average place to take in the sunrise.
