Collectively, we all agreed that we had no interest in climbing out on to this railway trestle. In case its not obvious, there is nothing below the railway ties except a long fall in to the canyon below.

Another family came up a few minutes behind us and all of them, except one teen boy ran out to the middle. The rest of the family started to goad the boy to join them and ultimately cried out "Why aren't you coming?!?"

When he didn't respond, I did, "Because he's smart!"
