We never found out why this place is called Husband Mountain, but as you can see from the large number of karsts in the area, it probably gets difficult to name them all at some point.

Its best to visit this place at sunrise but we couldn't muster the enthusiasm or a ride over at an earlier hour so we got this harsher mid-morning light.

On the way there, our driver told us about growing up in Yangshuo. The most interesting thing he told us about was the "neighborhood communism boss". This boss is supposed to report people in the neighborhood who aren't following the rules or being good communists. The funny part of the story was how much disdain he had for the neighborhood boss and how he said no one likes the boss and everyone essentially lies to them.

Other than that, he was happy with China's government, especially since the economy had improved since he was young.
