Ingapirca - the largest known Inca ruins in Ecuador, so of course we went to see that. A "host" is assigned to guide you around the ruin and explain the history of the site. For me, that was the highlight of the visit given our host was a descendant of the Cañari people who originally occupied the site when the Inca arrived. As you can imagine he was very proud to say that the Inca were unable to conquer the Cañari and had to ultimately figure out a way to live together in peace and this site is an example of their cultures blending as this is the only Inca temple built in a circle - a Cañari style (Inca built temples as squares).
