It wasn't until we were leaving Germany that we got an official ruling on whether people wear Lederhosen for real or only as a tourist gimmick.

It was hard to decide because 1) there were way too many people wearing Lederhosen than you would think possible 2) there were way too many Lederhosen shops and billboards than you would think possible and 3) you ended up looking like this guy if you decided to wear Lederhosen.

The official ruling on Lederhosen came from German brothers that shared a train car with us as we traveled from Germany to Slovenia - their response "They only wear Lederhosen in Bavaria"
