There is a curious hiking club in Chiang Mai we accompanied on a "Three Peaks Special".

I say curious because contrary to their inviting web site which encouraged us to join their hike, half the leaders seemed annoyed new people showed up. We've joined a number of hiking clubs in a variety of places and never gotten such a lukewarm reception.

That being said, the other half of the group which was amazing, friendly and interesting made up for the less charming half. One example, Sam here just ahead of me disappearing in to the man-sized ferns.
